Why we started
“We would not feed our kids meat we could not explain.”
That is the whole reason. We wanted to know what was in it, where it came from, and who handled it. Once you start asking that question about your own table, it gets hard to stop.
The farm is named after Little Blue, a 1953 Chevrolet pickup. If you have been to the Peoria Riverfront Farmers Market, you have probably seen it. It is not a logo we bought. It is a truck we own and drive.
Same family. Same pastures between Morton and Mackinaw. Fourteen years later we still load it, drive it, and carry it into your freezer ourselves.
The problem
The 5:30 stare
It is 5:30. The freezer door is open. There is nothing planned, so somebody runs to the store again. Ground beef costs what it costs this month and nobody in the family knows which farm it came from.
That is the whole problem.It is not a cooking problem. It is a planning problem.
One order, one delivery, one afternoon spent making room. Then dinner is a decision you already made.
What happens after you order
You order and pick your cuts.
At checkout you tell us grass-fed or grain-fed, and whether you want custom cutting or our standard cut. If you want custom, we help you reserve your spot with the locker.
We call you before it ships.
We go through your order with you line by line. This is when you swap anything your family will not eat, at no cost. Nothing gets cut before that call.
We deliver it and carry it in.
We bring it to your door and help you get it into the freezer. Not left on the porch. Delivery is usually one to two weeks from your order, depending on that week's routes, and we tell you your day.

- Fits in about 4 cubic feet of freezer space and feeds a family of four for about 2 to 3 months
- Delivery usually 1 to 2 weeks from your order depending on routes. A small fuel fee applies by route.
Plain English
What actually means
Hanging weight is the weight of the animal after it has been harvested and cooled, before it is cut and trimmed. It is how every farm in the country quotes a quarter, a half, or a whole.
You do not receive 75 lb of meat. You receive the cuts listed above, cut, trimmed, wrapped and frozen, which is less than the hanging weight. That is normal and it is true of every farm you will compare us to. We list every cut by name and count so you know exactly what arrives, not just a weight on a page.

A family of four typically gets about 2 to 3 months of dinners from the bundle, depending on how often you eat beef and pork.
Yes. Call us at (309) 613-0563 before your order ships and we will swap it for additional ground beef at no cost.
Yes, we run regular routes through all of those. There is no charge for the delivery itself. A small fuel fee applies and varies by route, and we tell you the amount before you commit.
Usually 1 to 2 weeks from your order, depending on the routes scheduled that week. We tell you your delivery day in advance.
Yes. Pre-order by Thursday at 4:00 PM for Saturday pickup at the Peoria Riverfront Farmers Market during market season.
It is automatic on any order placed by November 18. Note pork sausage or chicken thighs in your order notes, or call and we will note it for you.
