Who we are
Little Blue's Farm, LLC is a family-owned farm and retail meat store at 16307 Washington Rd., Morton, IL 61550. We raise and sell naturally raised beef, pork, chicken, and turkey directly to families, schools, restaurants, grocery stores, and caterers.
This policy applies to www.littlebluesfarm.com, to our email and text message programs, and to information you give us in person at the farm store or at the Peoria Riverfront Farmers Market. It does not cover what other companies do with your information — see Links to other websites below.
When this policy says "we," "our," or "us," it means Little Blue's Farm, LLC. When it says "you," it means anyone who visits our website, buys from us, or signs up for our email or text messages.
What we collect
We collect four kinds of information, and most of it you hand us on purpose.
Information you give us
- Name and contact information — your name, email address, phone number, and mailing or delivery address
- Order information — what you ordered, cut preferences, delivery or pickup instructions, and your order history
- Messages you send us — anything you write in our contact form, email us, text us, or send us on Facebook or Instagram
- Business information — for wholesale, school, restaurant, and catering customers, the business name, contact person, and standing order details
- Freezer and delivery details — access notes, gate codes, or "leave it in the garage" style instructions you choose to give our delivery driver
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, our hosting platform and analytics tools automatically record standard technical information:
- IP address and general location (city or region level, not a street address)
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages you visited, how long you stayed, and what you clicked
- The website, search, or ad that sent you to us
- Cookie and pixel identifiers
This information is used in aggregate to understand how people find and use the site. It is not combined with your name unless you have filled out a form and identified yourself.
Payment information
Payment card details are collected and processed by our online store provider, Barn2Door, and their payment processor. We do not see, receive, or store full card numbers. In-person payments at the farm store and at the farmers market are processed through our card terminal provider under the same arrangement.
If you pay with SNAP benefits, your benefits are processed at the time of delivery or at the point of sale. We do not store EBT card numbers.
Information from others
We receive order and customer information from Barn2Door when you place an online order, and aggregate, non-identifying performance data from Google and Meta about how our ads and posts perform. We do not buy customer lists, and we do not append or enrich your information from data brokers.
How we use your information
We use what we collect to run a farm and serve customers. Specifically:
- Fill, cut, schedule, and deliver your order
- Contact you about an order, a delivery window, a substitution, or a problem
- Answer your questions about cuts, pricing, hanging weight, availability, or delivery
- Process payments and keep accurate records for accounting and tax purposes
- Send you email or text updates if you asked for them
- Coordinate bulk beef and hog orders with the USDA-inspected locker that processes them
- Understand which pages, products, and ads bring customers to the farm
- Improve the website, our bundles, and our delivery routes
- Meet our legal, tax, and food-safety recordkeeping obligations
Email and newsletter
If you join our email list, we use your email address to send farm updates, seasonal availability, market dates, bundle announcements, and occasional offers. We send email when there is something worth sending, not on a fixed schedule.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you are off the list. You can also reply to any email and ask us to remove you, or email questions@littlebluesfarm.com.
Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop transactional messages — order confirmations, delivery scheduling, and pickup notices. Those are part of fulfilling your order, and you will keep receiving them for orders you have placed.
Our email is sent through GoHighLevel, which stores your email address and engagement data on our behalf. We do not sell, rent, trade, or lend our email list to anyone.
Text messages and mobile information
If you give us your mobile number and opt in to our text program, we use it to send order and delivery updates, pickup notices, market dates, seasonal availability, and occasional offers. You only receive text messages if you have opted in.
How you opt in. You opt in by checking the SMS consent box on a form on our website, by texting us first, or by telling us in person at the farm store or the farmers market and confirming by text. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of buying anything from us, and the consent box on our forms is never pre-checked.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of information — such as IP address, browser type, and website usage — exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Who does handle your number. Your mobile number is stored in our customer database and sent through our messaging provider, GoHighLevel, and the mobile carriers, solely so the message you asked for can reach your phone. Those providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your number for their own marketing.
How to stop. Reply STOP to any text message from us and you will be unsubscribed immediately. Reply HELP for help, or call us at (309) 613-0563. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
Full program details are in our SMS Terms & Conditions.
Online orders and payment
Our online store is hosted by Barn2Door at app.barn2door.com. When you place an order there, the information you enter — name, contact details, delivery address, order contents, and payment information — is collected and processed by Barn2Door under their privacy policy, and shared back to us so we can fill the order.
We do not store your full payment card number. Card data is handled by Barn2Door's payment processor. What we keep on our side is the order record: what you bought, where it went, and what it cost.
If you use SNAP benefits through our online store, select cash at checkout and we process your benefits at delivery. We keep a record that the order was paid, not your EBT card number.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We use them to keep the site working properly, remember your preferences, and measure how the site performs.
We use these third-party tools:
- Google Analytics — measures traffic, page views, and how people move through the site. Google's own privacy terms apply. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) — measures how our Facebook and Instagram posts and ads perform, and lets us show ads to people who have visited our site. You can adjust what you see in your Meta ad preferences.
- Google Ads tracking — measures whether an ad led to an order. You can adjust your Google Ads settings.
You can turn cookies off in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may break parts of the site, including forms.
Do Not Track. Browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal that has no agreed-upon standard, and our site does not currently respond to it. We do honor the opt-out and rights requests described in Your privacy choices and rights.
These advertising tools use website behavior, never your text message opt-in. As stated in Text messages and mobile information, mobile opt-in data is never shared with any third party, including advertising platforms.
How we share information
What we never do:
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not rent, trade, or lend our customer list, email list, or text list.
- We do not share mobile numbers or text message opt-in data with anyone for marketing.
- We do not share your information with data brokers or list companies.
Who we do share information with, and only for these reasons:
- Service providers who run parts of our business — our website host, GoHighLevel (customer database, email, and text messaging), Barn2Door (online store), and our payment processors. They may only use your information to provide that service to us.
- The USDA-inspected locker that processes bulk beef and hog orders, so your order can be identified, cut, and boxed correctly. This is limited to your name and the details of your order.
- Delivery help — if someone other than our own family is delivering on a route, they receive the name, address, and delivery instructions needed to complete that delivery, and nothing else.
- When the law requires it — to comply with a subpoena, court order, tax or food-safety recordkeeping requirement, or a lawful government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, our family, or the public.
- In a business transfer — if the farm is ever sold, merged, or transferred, customer information may transfer with it. If that happens, we will post notice on this page before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
How long we keep information
We keep customer and order records for as long as you are a customer and afterward for as long as we need them for accounting, tax, warranty, and food-safety recordkeeping — generally at least seven years for financial records.
Email and text subscriptions are different. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending. We keep a minimal record that you opted out so that we do not accidentally add you back, which is required to honor your request.
Website analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of Google Analytics and Meta.
You can ask us to delete your information — see Your privacy choices and rights.
How we protect information
Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Customer and order information is stored in access-controlled accounts with the providers named in this policy, and only the family members and staff who need it to do their jobs have access.
We are a family farm, not a bank, and we will be honest with you about what that means: no method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we do not collect information we do not need. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by Illinois law and the law of your state.
Your privacy choices and rights
You do not have to live in a particular state to ask us about your information. We extend the following rights to every customer, everywhere we deliver.
What you can ask
- Know what personal information we have about you and how we used it
- Get a copy of that information
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your information, subject to records we are legally required to keep
- Opt out of marketing email, text messages, or targeted advertising
- Opt out of any sale of your personal information — we do not sell it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right stands
How to make a request
Email questions@littlebluesfarm.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line, or call (309) 613-0563, or write to us at 16307 Washington Rd., Morton, IL 61550.
We will confirm we received your request and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and how much longer we need. We may need to verify who you are before we release or delete information — usually by confirming details from a recent order.
Making a privacy request costs nothing and will never affect your pricing, your delivery, or how we treat you as a customer.
If we say no to a request
If we decline a request — for example, because we are legally required to keep a financial record — we will tell you which part we declined and why, in writing. If you disagree, you can reply and ask us to reconsider, and if your state provides one, you may appeal to your state's Attorney General.
State-specific notices
We deliver across Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Missouri. Some of those states have consumer data privacy laws with their own procedures. Rather than sort customers by state, we honor the rights above for everyone. If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law and you want to exercise a right specific to that law, say so in your request and we will follow that state's process.
Children's privacy
Our website and our email and text programs are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at questions@littlebluesfarm.com or (309) 613-0563 and we will delete it.
Children are welcome at the farm store and at the market — they usually come to see the blue truck. This section is about our website and our messaging programs.
Links to other websites
This site links out to our online store at Barn2Door, to our Facebook and Instagram pages, and to Google Maps. Those are separate companies with their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover what they do with your information. When you follow a link off our site, read the policy of the site you land on.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when what we do with information changes — a new tool, a new service, or a new legal requirement. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
If we make a change that materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will do more than change a date. We will post a notice on this page and, where we have your permission to contact you, tell you directly by email or text before the change takes effect.
